Academy: Host Families Required

8 January 2018

Cheltenham Town Academy is currently seeking host family providers, couples or singles, to support our young scholars who need to live away from home to undertake their football training at the club.

Host families would be required to provide homely accommodation throughout the season. Essential is a room with Wi-Fi connection, access to public transport and local amenities is desirable. The host families we are looking for would preferably be situated within a five-mile radius of CTFC Training Ground, Quat Goose Lane, Swindon Village, Cheltenham, GL51 9RX and/or within reasonable travelling distance by bus or train.

Our placements vary from short-term to long-term, with some specialist accommodation, offering short notice limited accommodation for trialists and their families, or holiday cover for other host families.

Hosts are encouraged to include young players in family life, and scholars are expected to respect their host family’s way of life in return for being accepted as a family member. Both hosts and young players are given guidelines explaining what is expected of each of them. All our host families are regularly visited and inspected by us.

The Club is committed to equal opportunities as well as safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Host's family members and any other persons over the age of 16 who reside at the address, are legally required to complete enhanced DBS checks, subscribe to the DBS Update Service on an annual basis. Fees for checks will be reimbursed.
