Rodon: Let's use Luton display as springboard

28 February 2018

Defender Joe Rodon is eager for the Robins to use the epic draw with league leaders Luton Town as a springboard to success for the rest of the season.

Joe Morrell and Mo Eisa grabbed the goals as Cheltenham stunned the Hatters in Sky Bet League Two last weekend.

Rodon, on loan from Swansea City, admits the manner of conceding a late equaliser was a bitter pill to swallow.

However, the 20-year-old – a second half substitute at Kenilworth Road – believes the team must now use that confidence in the final two months of the season.

“The Luton result was a positive result for us and one to build on,” he said.

“We were all gutted with what happened late on, but on reflection it’s a point well-earned at the leaders and a performance we can use.

“We were unbelievable on the day, well set-up and we were really unlucky not to come away with all three points.

“Now it is about moving that forward, taking that confidence into the final two months of the season to see if we can move up the table.”

Rodon has featured in five games since making the move from the Liberty Stadium and believes he is learning with every passing day.

“It’s been a busy month - and a massive learning curve,” added Rodon.

“I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in most of the games and I feel I am learning lots. I am really enjoying the experience.”
