Cranston returns to first team training

8 February 2018

Manager Gary Johnson has confirmed that defender Jordan Cranston has hit another milestone on his comeback after returning to first team training.

Cranston has been out of action since suffering a serious hamstring injury against Luton Town in mid-November.

However, the left back has had his boots back on and has been out with the squad this week as he steps up his return alongside Jordon Forster who is also making good progress.

“Cranners is now training with the first team,” revealed Johnson. “He is not doing contact yet, but he is doing his crossing and running and a lot of work with the physios.

“Both Cranners and Fozzie (Jordon Forster) are doing really well, along with Jaanai Gordon

“All of them have worked their socks off so they are in a position where they are not a million miles away.

“Now it is about match sharpness. We haven’t got time to give them a pre-season. But we are going to try and get them ready as soon as we can.”
