Cheltenham Town have today officially completed the signing of exciting young striker Kalvin Lumbombo Kalala.
Kalala, 20, joins the Robins after playing last season in Italy for Savona.
The Paris-born forward was spotted by Head of Recruitment Pete Johnson during a trial in West London in May and impressed on trial in pre-season.
Kalala, who netted in friendly fixtures with Cirencester Town and Evesham United, has now put pen to paper on a short-term contract, after the club received the necessary paperwork from Serie D outfit Savona.
Kalala has now officially signed for the Robins and the club has applied for international clearance ahead of his weekend’s game with Crawley Town.
Manager Gary Johnson said: "Kalvin is still only young, has great ability, he’s getting fitter and he’s a determined young man who is eager to make his way in the game.
“That determination along with his ability should gain him a very good career in England in time.
“We always keep an eye on the UK Football Trials, that brings over talented players from overseas,” added Johnson.
“Pete was at the summer trials and everyone agreed that Kalvin was head and shoulders above at that event.
“Pete’s Del Boy persuasion has come up trumps and we’re delighted Kalvin has joined us. ‘You know it makes sense!’”
