NEW SIGNING: Aden Baldwin

3 August 2018

Cheltenham Town have today completed the loan signing of defender Aden Baldwin from Bristol City.

The 21-year-old links up with the Robins until January and goes straight into contention for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two opener with Crawley Town.

Gloucester-based Baldwin moved to Bristol City from Forest Green Rovers in 2016.

He has previously had successful loan spells at Weston-super-Mare and Bath City.

Manager Gary Johnson said: “Both Lee (Johnson) and I agreed that Aden is ready for the Football League.

“He’s been at Bristol City for a couple of years and each season he’s grown in stature and also in ability.

“Aden is a right back and right-sided central defender who is a real competitor with good pace. We’re pleased that he has signed and look forward to seeing him in action.”

Aden Baldwin said: “I’m excited by the opportunity to come to Cheltenham Town and to make an impression in the Football League.

“I have learnt so much during my time at Bristol City and know it’s about putting that into practice and showing what I am capable of in a very competitive environment.

“A number of Bristol City players have come here on loan and benefitted from it, the likes of Taylor Moore and Joe Morrell last season, and I am hoping to follow that path and make this a successful spell.”
