Manager Gary Johnson has told his Cheltenham Town players to expect a big atmosphere when they face newly-promoted Tranmere Rovers on Saturday in Sky Bet League two (kick-off 3pm).

The Robins head to Merseyside looking for a first win of the campaign after a 1-0 defeat to Crawley Town on the opening day.

Tranmere produced a spirited first day showing to draw 2-2 with Stevenage and as Rovers head to Prenton Park for the first time Johnson knows his team can expect a fired up home crowd.

“It’s almost like a win when you come back from 2-0 down, especially at Stevenage which isn’t an easy place to go and get a result,” he said.

“They’ll be buoyant and it’s their first home game back in the league so there will be a big crowd there and another big atmosphere, which is another thing for our new lads to think about and be aware of and to be able to deal with it.

“It’s a learning process and I am looking forward to it. It’s always a good atmosphere at Tranmere, a nice stadium with lots of people so it’ll be good to see how we perform.”

Meanwhile, Johnson has revealed no new injuries worries ahead of the clash adding: “We are pretty much as we were. We have the longer terms ones of Sean Long and Chris Hussey. We are more or less picking from the same team sheet.”
