Robins dealt cruel Duku injury blow

11 August 2018

Manager Gary Johnson admitted Cheltenham Town will be without striker Manny Duku for a number of weeks after he suffered a shoulder injury against Tranmere Rovers.

Dutch hitman Duku suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder after falling over the advertising boards at the end of the first half after he tussled for a far post cross.

Duku was immediately substituted and taken to a local hospital with Johnson revealing the worst after the final whistle at Prenton Park.

“It was a really bad fall and I think he has done his shoulder. It’s come out and he’s gone to hospital to get it assessed,” he said.

“Gav (Crowe) says it is not very nice and it’s not a nice injury to have. He’s going to be out a few weeks which is a real shame after two only games.

“It’s only his second Football League game and I know that he would have improved. He will when he comes back, but he’s got a little bit of a few weeks before we see him again.”
