Match Pack: Cambridge United

24 August 2018

All the information you need ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Cambridge United.

Head to head:

The “U’s” have had the upper hand when playing the Robins previously, having won five out of the last nine fixtures, including last season’s thrilling 4-3 defeat at the Abbey Stadium.

Cheltenham’s last victory over Cambridge United came in 2015, where the Robins won 3-1 thanks to goals from Shaun Harrad, Danny Haynes and Matt Sparrow.

In total, the Robins have won three out of the nine meetings between the two sides, with there being one draw.

What they say: Russ Milton

Caretaker Manager Russ Milton looked ahead to Saturday’s game at the weekly press conference on Thursday.

“The point on Tuesday was a huge positive, we were very good second half and showed a lot of energy and could have won the game”.

“It shows you how football is, one half we were backs against the walls and the second half we were very good and another time we would have won the game”.

What they say:  Joe Dunne

Cambridge United manager, Joe Dunne, looked ahead to this weekend's match after watching his side slip to a 2-0 home defeat by Exeter City in midweek.

“It’s important we look after ourselves after the back of a decent performance on Tuesday,' he said.

Cheltenham have a decent squad, and anything could happen when there has been a change of manager.

“There will be no real big team talk on Saturday, it will be about what we do and how they line up. We have to make sure that we are ready”.
