Cheltenham Town are delighted to announce that 360-degree cameras will be used at selected games this season at the Jonny Rocks Stadium - an initiative that will give supporters more behind the scenes content!
The Robins have teamed up with local business RevolVR, a new and upcoming Virtual Reality Production company based in Cheltenham, to provide supporters with a 360-degree perspective for the 2018/19 season.
The 360-degree cameras will be filmed at a selection of games this season, starting with this weekend’s clash with Crawley Town.
James Stone, Media and Marketing Executive at Cheltenham Town, said: "The 360-degree cameras will give supporters a greater insight into the behind the scenes action during a match day and will be a brilliant opportunity for supporters who are unable to attend all home games to experience the action from a 360-degree perspective. We’re really looking forward to working with RevolVR this season and creating further video content that supporters can enjoy”.
Les Copestake, a long-standing support of the club and owner of RevolVR, said: "I’m so pleased to be working with Cheltenham Town Football Club as I’ve been a supporter since the 80’s. As a fan, having the opportunity to enhance the experience for supporter’s is brilliant”.
“We will be assisting the club in creating a 360-degree virtual reality tour of the ground, in addition to the introduction of the cameras for selected games this season”.
“The tour will give fan’s the opportunity to see a variety of exclusive areas through a VR headset, such as; the changing rooms, conference rooms and match day hospitality suites”.
“During the match, the 360-degree cameras will be based in the Autovillage Stand amongst the crowd, creating an illusion of actually being there on a match day”.
The 360-degree cameras will be used on a matchday for the first time this Saturday against Crawley. RevolVR joined us at this week’s press conference to give fans an small insight for future content!
