REPORT: Robins Reserves 1-1 MK Dons Reserves

24 April 2018

Defender Manny Onariase scored a first half header as Cheltenham Town Reserves and MK Dons Reserves played out a draw in a Central League South West encounter at The Energy Check Training Ground.

Onariase powerfully nodded home to give the Robins the lead before the visitors levelled it up in the second half to ensure the points were shared.

Home goalkeeper Rhys Lovett impressed throughout, with a number of first half saves, before Sanmi Odelusi went close but was denied by the visiting stopper.

The Robins opened the scoring on 19 minutes when Onariase met a right wing cross to nod home from ten yards.

Second half substitute George Lloyd went close with a rising shot from a cross from Will Dawes before MK Dons finally beat the all-action Lovett, who had kept his side ahead by pushing one low shot into the post.

Sam Nombe was the man to get the away goal as he tucked a teasing right wing cross home from close range.

The Robins almost snatched all three points in the dying minutes when Will Dawes swept over a cross that was narrowly headed wide by Matt Bower.

Robins: Lovett, Handley, Onariase, Grimes (Rodon 70), Bower, Andrews, Brennan, Trialist, Trialist (Price 75), Odelusi (Lloyd 45), Dawes. Subs: Clayton, Scott.
