Pell nominated for EFL Goal of the Month

6 April 2018

Midfielder Harry Pell has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month for March.

Pell scored a stunning long range strike against Crawley Town last month and has now been shortlisted alongside Perry Ng from Crewe Alexandra and Accrington Stanley’s Jordan Clark.

The winners of the Sky Bet EFL Goals of the Month are chosen by a fan poll on skysports.com.

Voting is open from 6am on April 6 and closes on Tuesday, April 10. Winners will be announced on Friday, April 13.

The March nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month Award are as follows:

Perry Ng – Stevenage v CREWE ALEXANDRA – 10th March

The man with the shortest name in the Sky Bet EFL left no-one in any doubt how to spell it after dispossessing Mark McKee, striding forward and thundering home a left-foot strike.

Jordan Clark – ACCRINGTON STANLEY v Forest Green Rovers – 17th March

An incredible solo goal from Clark, who collected the ball in his own half, sprinted away down the touchline, cut inside to beat two men and topped it off with a cheeky nutmeg.

Harry Pell – Crawley Town v CHELTENHAM TOWN – 24th March

At 6ft 4in, Crawley’s defenders certainly saw Pell coming. They couldn’t stop him, though, as he charged through a tackle, skipped on and struck a looping shot into the top corner.

The shortlist for the poll was decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter. The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; Sky Bet Sponsorship Executive Michael Holinski and EFL Senior Media Manager Rob Meaden.
