Morrell - More to come from me and team

25 September 2017

All-action midfielder Joe Morrell has relished his first month in the Football League - but insists there is much more to come from him and the Robins.

Morrell moved to the LCI Rail Stadium from Bristol City ahead of deadline day.

The 20-year-old hit the floor running for Cheltenham and was named man-of-the-match in his first game against Stevenage.

He has kept his place in the engine room of the team ever since with a number of eye-catching performances.

But the Ipswich-born ace believes there is even more to come from his game as he prepares to face Mansfield in Sky Bet League Two on Tuesday night.

"The transition has been made easier for me by coming into a team that is playing well and with confidence," he said.

"We have tried to play a passing techincal game and that has helped me to adapt. The style is one I am used to and the lads have been helpful.

"Hopefully this is just the early stages of a long career for me and I'm still picking things up and trying to learn. I'm really enjoying it.

"I still feel there is much more to come and hopefully there is a big performance around the corner for both me and the team.

"I've only been here for five games, but everything I have seen has been positive and we could have picked up a lot more points than we actually have," he added.

"We've all spoken about the importance of going on a run and hopefully that starts against Mansfield."
