Moore excitement at Robins loan move

1 September 2017

Loan signing Taylor Moore is determined to take his opportunity to impress after joining the Robins this week.

Impressive young defender Moore – who has represented England at every age group from Under-17s to Under-20s, captaining the Under-19s – has made the switch until January from Bristol City.

Born in East London, Moore has enjoyed a busy start to his footballing career having spent time in West Ham’s Academy set-up before moving to France as a youngster where he later joined Lens.

He moved to Bristol City in 2016 and spent the second half of last season at Bury, making a big impression as the Manchester club avoided relegation.

And he believes his latest loan move can be equally beneficial as he looks to continue his footballing education and help Cheltenham climb the Sky Bet League Two table.

He said: “Cheltenham is the right choice for me because I feel I can help the team in a massive way, whether that is centre back, right back or defensive midfield. After talking to the manager, if felt right here.

“I went to Bury last year on loan and it was probably the best thing I have ever done. To go out and play league football week in and week out at a young age, you are only going to learn by playing.

“Playing league football is a big difference to age grade football in terms of the physicality, the game management. You learn so much playing league football.”

Moore, 20, will now be pushing for his debut in Saturday’s league game with Stevenage as he looks to hit the floor running.

“We need to put together a few good performances and from what I understand we haven’t been far away,” added Moore.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge on Saturday and getting some good results.”
