Graham glee at scoring first goal for Robins

26 September 2017

Striker Brian Graham was delighted to get off the mark for Cheltenham in the 3-0 win over Mansfield Town – but insists there is still more to come from the Robins.

Graham opened the scoring at the LCI Rail Stadium before further goals from Joe Morrell and Danny Wright ensured Gary Johnson’s men took all three points in emphatic fashion.

“It was good to get a victory, good to get a clean sheet and obviously I’m delighted to get off the mark,” said Graham.

“I’ve felt I’ve been playing well the last few games since I came back from injury. I should have scored a penalty a few weeks ago here, but that is football.

“It was a great ball in from young Joe (Morrell) tonight and I’m happy to get off the mark.

“First half was a battle and the gaffer wanted us to come our firing second half. It could have been four or five but we will take 3-0,” he added.

“We all want to thrive to get us this league. We knew what we have got in that dressing room, we have stuck together. We’re not totally there yet but we are heading in the right direction.”
