Striker Gordon to miss rest of season

27 September 2017

Cheltenham Town can today confirm that Jaanai Gordon will miss the rest of the season after suffering both an ACL and LCL injury in the recent home game with Colchester United.

The striker, who has made four appearances for the Robins this season, will undergo surgery next month before starting his rehabilitation and recovery.

Gordon, 21, will miss the rest of the current season and will now target a return to football for the 2018/19 campaign.

Manager Gary Johnson said: “It’s disappointing to lose Jaanai to a long-term injury, just at a time when he was looking sharp and eager to fulfil his potential.

“We wish him well with his rehabilitation and we’ll remind him that he is still only 21-years-old and he has a long career ahead of him.”
