Striker Gordon set for spell on sidelines

21 September 2017

Manager Gary Johnson expects striker Jaanai Gordon to spend a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury.

Gordon signed for the Robins earlier this month and has made four appearances for the club.

However, Johnson revealed earlier today that the forward had now suffered a knee injury that would rule him out of action.

"Unfortunately we have lost Jaanai," said Johnson. "He's got a knee injury that might be a couple of months out.

"We're disappointed with that because he did well when he came on the other day.

"We’ve now got to look after him, assess the injury and hope he comes back fully fit in a few months."

Better news surrounds the backline, with Johnson declaring a near clear bill of health with new recruit Alex Davey also adding to the defensive ranks.

"Grimesy (Jamie Grimes) is fully fit, as we all saw against Colchester, and Boyley (Will Boyle) did very well in the Gloucester cup game so he is buzzing and looking for a start again. That area is now okay for us."
