Flinders eager to build on his solid start

11 September 2017

Goalkeeper Scott Flinders is keen to build on a strong start to his career at Cheltenham Town as the team face Newport County on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm).

Flinders made his second start for the Robins as the team secured a point from a 0-0 draw at Yeovil Town.

The shot-stopper admits it was a frustrating afternoon for all involved in Somerset as chances went begging.

But he is sure the team make make it count over the border in Wales as Cheltenham look for a second win of the league season.

“It’s always good to keep clean sheets and it breeds confidence,” he said.

“Since I have been here, we have looked solid and there have been some really performances.

"It’s just a shame that we haven’t had that final touch to finish off games.

“As soon as we score that first goal you will see a different side and a more confident side in front of goal.

“It’s been brilliant here for me," he added. "It’s a lovely place to live and the lads have been brilliant with me. I’m just looking forward to it.”
