Midfielder Kevin Dawson is looking forward to his return to Yeovil Town this weekend – but insists any sentiment will be firmly left on the sidelines as Cheltenham hunt a key league victory.
Dawson previous played for Yeovil for four years, having signed from Shelbourne in 2013, and made over 120 league appearances for the Somerset side.
The 27-year-old has fond memories of his time at the Glovers, including playing in the 2013 League One play-off final as Yeovil won promotion.
However, the Dubliner insists it is ‘business as usual’ come kick-off at Huish Park on Saturday afternoon as the Robins look to secure a crucial Sky Bet League Two victory.
“This was the fixture I looked for first (at the start of the season) having spent a number of years there,” he said. “We had some good times so naturally it was the first one I looked for.
“You look forward to going back, I still have a lot of good friends there. But once you cross the line it is business as usual.
“Hopefully it will be a good reception, but you put that to one side and get on with the game.
“I think we are in a false position at the moment,” he added. “But it is up to us to prove that it is false and get some wins racked up and get up that table as quick as we can.”
