Winchester: We mush show the real Robins

9 November 2017

Versatile Carl Winchester wants Cheltenham Town to make amends when they face Luton Town on Saturday insisting: “We have to show people what we really can do.”

Northern Ireland ace Winchester, 24, knows the Robins cannot afford a repeat of last weekend’s performance on soil when the Hatters arrive at the LCI Rail Stadium (kick-off 3pm).

But he believes the squad has the belief and talent to bounce back and show their real worth.

"We are an honest group and we knew it wasn't right last weekend,” said Belfast–born Winchester. “But we look forward to Saturday and it's a great way to prove everyone wrong.

"I believe, and the lads believe, that we have a good enough squad to put it right.

"If we do what the gaffer tells us to do, because he is experienced enough with knowing how to cope with this, then we can bounce back.

"The gaffer has been there and done it. He knows the situation we are in and we believe in him.

"After a defeat like that you want another game to bounce back. We have to show people what we really can do.

"We've shown what we can do against Mansfield and Swindon. They are fighting to go up and we held our own against them. We are good enough to challenge in this league.”
