Welsh ace Morrell called-up for Euro qualifiers

1 November 2017

Midfielder Joe Morrell has been named in an 18-man squad as Wales Under-21s prepare for a European Championship qualifying double-header in November.

Morrell, on loan at the Robins from Bristol City, has been named by Robert Page in his latest squad to face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, November 10 before facing Romania four days later (November 14) with both games being played at the Bangor University Stadium (6pm kick-off).

Page’s side are currently fourth in Group 8 with six points from their opening three matches.

Wins over Switzerland and Liechtenstein – where Morrell made his debut at Under-21 level - means Wales are in a strong position heading into back-to-back home fixtures in North Wales.

Morrell’s call-up means he will miss the Checkatrade Trophy fixture with Newport County and the Sky Bet League Two clash with Luton Town at the LCI Rail Stadium.
