Cranston set for spell on sidelines

12 November 2017

Manager Gary Johnson has urged Daniel O’Shaughnessy to take this chance to impress - with defender Jordan Cranston set for a spell on the sidelines.

Cranston was injured in the first half of the 2-2 draw with Luton Town in a thrilling Sky Bet League Two encounter at the LCI Rail Stadium.

O’Shaughnessy was sent on and helped set up the first equaliser for the Robins and now has Johnson encouraging to take his chance to shine.

“It looks like a hamstring with Jordan so he could be out for three or four week,” admitted Johnson. “It's gutting really because it's a long time until January when we can change things.

“However, Dan O'Shaughnessy has had a couple of good games – three good games when he's come in and he gets his opportunity now.

“I thought he did all right today and he did all right at Newport too as a left-sided wing back.

“We're sorry to lose Cranners, but it gives O'Shaughnessy an opportunity.”
