Kevin Dawson today became our first signing of the summer having put pen to paper on a two year deal. Read the full details here.
Speaking to ctfc.com, Kevin said, "I'm over the moon to get it all done this quickly. I've had interest from a few clubs but after a few chats with Gary I knew this was the place to come."
This is the second time that the Irishman has team up with Gary Johnson, having been signed by him for Yeovil back in 2013. Commenting on his new boss, Dawson said, " I have really good memories of working with him. He gave me my chance in England and we were very successful together. First the promotion season in League One before a year in the Championship which was a great experience.
"The two year deal gives me some security which is great, me and my girlfriend Kerri will be moving to Cheltenham which we're really looking forward to.
"We're going on a short break now and then when we get back it'll be time to hit the gym and get ready for next season. I don't know any of the lads personally but i'm really looking forward to meeting them and hopefully the existing players and the new ones can all hit the ground running together and we can have a successful season."
When talking about the prospect of his home debut, Kevin added, "I've seen on Twitter the club's new Join Our Squad campaign and I guess that's pretty fitting for me. Hopefully as many fans as possible can sign up. I already know that Cheltenham has a great fan base and I look forward to getting to know them during my time here".
