Defender Jamie Grimes today became our second summer addition
after a signing a one-year contract, which starts on July 1st.
The 26 year-old, speaking to ctfc.com said, "I'm delighted, just really excited to join the club and excited for the new challenge, I've been desperate to play in the Football League and am so happy to get this chance"
Jamie had been the club captain of Dover Athletic and admitted that it'll be strange moving on, "Of course it's going to be difficult to leave, I was the captain at Dover and loved it. I made a lot of really good friends but it's time to move on, you've got to challenge yourself and that's exactly what I'm doing."
Before joining Dover, the centre-back had played for Kidderminster, alongside our very own Kyle Storer and Danny Wright. Discussing his new (and old) teammates Grimes added, "Obviously knowing Wright and Stoz will help. They're really good lads but I'm also really looking forward to meeting the new guys too, I know that there are lots of great characters here so I'm sure it will be fun."
When asked if Gary Johnson was a big factor in his decision to join us, Jamie said, "Absolutely. The gaffer is so ambitious, he outlined his plan going forward which was really exciting. He's got a great track record of getting teams promoted and I know that he's the man to help develop my career.
"I'm not just here to sit around in League Two, I want to push my career on and this is the place, and manager to do that. We're going to be really competitive this year and I can't wait to get started!"
