A look at this weekend's opponents

This Saturday sees us take on Morecambe in SkyBet League Two action at the LCI Rail Stadium.

The Shrimps currently lie three places and seven points above us in the table in 19th place.

They’ve picked up a total of 46 points having won 13, drawn seven and lost 19 of their 39 matches so far this season.

Morecambe aren’t in the best of form as they have lost their last six games in a row, with their most recent win coming at the end of February against Grimsby.

They are managed by their former player Jim Bentley, who took the reigns in May 2011 after Sammy McIlroy left the club by mutual consent.

Morecambe have three players all tied for their top goalscorer, with Kevin Ellison, Paul Mullin and Cole Stockton on seven strikes each this campaign.

We have already faced them once this season, back in December, when goals from Billy Waters and Harry Pell earned The Robins a dramatic 2-1 win.

The Shrimps had manager Bentley sent to the stands during the match, which resulted in him being handed a £1,000 fine - however during their next home game a bucket collection saw the fans pull together and raise enough money to pay it for him.

Morecambe haven’t managed to record a win over us since 2012, and there have been seven meetings between the sides in that time.

Overall we’ve played each other on 15 occasions in the league and FA Cup since 2008, with Cheltenham winning seven, Morecambe winning three and there being five draws.
