A detailed look at Mansfield Town

This Saturday sees us take on Mansfield Town at The LCI Rail Stadium as we look to make it four wins in a row.

The Stags currently sit eighth in the League Two table, just one place and one point behind Stevenage, who occupy the final play off spot.

They have won 13, drawn 12 and lost nine of their 34 matches so far this season, giving them a total of 51 points.

Steve Evans’ side have been in impressive form since he took over from Adam Murray back in November, and have lost just one of their last 10 matches.

In the past week they have drawn 0-0 with Yeovil and beaten Newport County 2-1 to remain in serious contention for a place in the top seven.

It’s Mansfield’s fourth season back in League Two following their promotion from the National League in 2013, and they finished 12th last campaign.

Their current top scorer is Matt Green, who has grabbed himself nine league goals so far this season, with Danny Rose and Benjamin Whiteman behind him on five each.

We have already faced The Stags this season, back in August, as a sublime strike from Daniel O’Shaughnessy with just over 10 minutes to go cancelled out Rose’s opener.

Overall we have an impressive record against Mansfield since our first of 19 meetings in 1999, winning nine, drawing four and losing just six.
