We can now confirm that Cheltenham Town will host Bristol City at the LCI Rail Stadium in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday 25th July.
The match, kicking off at 7:45pm, will be a repeat of the 'Johnson Cup' as Gary takes on his son Lee, who is the Manager of the Bristol side.
The two sides met in the same fixture last summer, with the Championship team running out 2-1 winners meaning Lee took home the trophy.
Our gaffer Gary Johnson commented, "We've got a good link with Bristol City and it's nice to keep that link active. It's an obvious game for us becuase of Lee being there and it's always good to play against one of his teams. It's always exciting to bring a Championship side to the LCI Rail Staidum and it should be a great night.
"This and the Peterbourough game just before the start of the season give us two very important first team fixtures to get us ready to hit the ground running."
This announcement finalises our full pre-season schedule:
We will be announcing ticket prices for matches nearer the time, but for now put these dates in the diary!
