Jordon Forster signs for the Robins

1 July 2017

We are delighted to announce the signing of Jordon Forster from Hibernian.

The right-sided defender joins the Robins on a two year deal from the Scottish side.

Jordon, 23, made his debut for Hibs as a 20 year-old and has since enjoyed a loan spell at Plymouth Argyle in England as well as Berwick Rangers and East Fife in Scotland.

Speaking to ctfc.com after signing his new contract, Jordon commented,"I'm really looking forward to getting started and playing some games.

"It became clear to me that my game time at Hibernian might be limited so when I heard that Cheltenham Town were interested it was very happy to speak to the manager and I liked what I heard. He told me about his plans for the season and his philosophy. I also spoke to Liam Fontaine, who I know from Hibs, and he played for the manager at Bristol City and told me some good things so I was more than happy to come down.

"I played about 16 or 17 games for Plymouth Argyle last season so I know what to expect in League Two and it's a case now of getting a good pre-season done."

Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson added, "I'm really pleased that Jordon has come to join us.

"It's great to have a player with as much experience as him at the age of only 23. He is a big strong player who has already played in some big games for Hibs.

"He broke his jaw while playing for Plymouth Argyle last season so he perhaps didn't play as many games for them as planned but that experience will certainly be good for him and he will be a really good addition to our squad."

Jordon is the fifth player to join our squad this season but we've also had around 1,200 fans joining the squad too. Find out how you can get your name in the hat to be our official number 12 for next season, here.
