Midfielder Joe Morrell hopes his loan stay from Bristol City will continue until the end of the season.
The Wales Under-21 moved to the LCI Rail Stadium at the start of the season on a deal until the New Year and has made 19 appearances in all competitions for the Robins.
“I want to stay and I think that will happen,” said Morrell.
“It’s a set-up that I am now familiar with. I know the boys, I know the gaffer and I don’t see any reason to change that.
“I can stay here and get some games and then go back to Bristol City next season.
“My focus is on Cheltenham and I am really happy playing here.
“I have learnt more here in half a year than I have in four years playing reserve team football at Bristol City, which is what it is about,” he added.
“I am still young and I am picking up things all the time, that is why I am keen to stay.
“I’ve never played senior football before so coming to this level was a good move for me.
“Questions have been asked of me; my career will be about answering those questions.
“Hopefully I have done a bit of that and there is more to come from me, that is the reason why I want to stay at Cheltenham and show more.”
