Coventry game must kick-start away form - Boss

12 December 2017

Manager Gary Johnson has called on his Robins to discover the winning habit away from home when they travel to Coventry City on Saturday in Sky Bet League Two (kick-off 3pm).

Cheltenham secured a crucial 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra at the weekend to close the gap to Coventry – in seventh spot in the table and the final play-off place – to five points.

"It's a big game and we have got to see how far we have come,” said Johnson.

"Our away form has got to turn very quickly and we have got to start picking up some away wins to make sure we get into those play-off spots. There is no better place to start than Coventry.

"It’s been a ground that has always been okay for me whenever I have taken teams there.

“We must not underestimate them. They are not going through a great spell at the moment and got beat at the weekend.

"But they are a decent side and if we are going to get something there we are going to have to be on form.

"We have got to be difficult to beat, especially against the teams around us who we are playing now and in the bottom half of the form table. We have got ourselves in a great chance to be challenging.”
