A look at Saturday's opponents Blackpool

This Saturday sees us travel up to Bloomfield Road to take on Blackpool in League Two action.

The Tangerines currently occupy the final play off spot, as they sit 7th on 64 points from their 43 games.

They are in good form having lost just two of their last ten matches - and last time out they recorded an impressive 1-0 win away at table-topping Doncaster Rovers.

It means that Blackpool go into the final three games with a chance of getting in the top seven and trying to secure an immediate return to League One following their relegation last season.

They are managed by former Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer, who took charge back in June.

Their top scorer so far is Brad Potts, who has hit the back of the net 12 times and also has nine assists to his name.

Blackpool also have the likes of former Aston Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso and ex-Crystal Palace midfielder Neil Danns amongst a squad that’s full of players that have showcased their skills at a higher level.

We have already faced The Seasiders twice this campaign but have yet to record a win over them.

An early James Jennings goal in August’s Checkatrade Trophy group stages opener wasn’t enough to get us anything as we eventually lost 2-1, and strikes from James Dayton and Danny Wright could only get us a 2-2 draw in our home league game back in October.

Overall we’ve played Blackpool nine times, with the first game being played in the FA Cup in 1934, and we’ve beaten them just once, drawn with them twice and lost on six occasions.
