Gary Johnson's verdict on trialist Ben Kalambay

13 September 2016

Won't be offered a contract

Gaffer Gary Johnson has decided not to offer trialist Ben Kalambay a contract with the club.

The Robins' boss commented, "We've decided not to offer Ben Kalambay a contract. Unfortunately he hasn't really had enough experience to come into our first team reckoning which is what we were looking at."

The striker has played two games for Cheltenham, in the Central League fixture against Newport and today's friendly against Oxford. He scored twice against a young Newport side and has trained with the first team for over a week but hasn't done enough to earn a contract.

Gary added, " He was a great lad and we're sure he will find something and we wish him all the best for the future."
