Reaction to the Scoreboard Success

19 November 2016

Paul, Gary, Aaron, Jon & John

Last night we reached the £55,500 target in our scoreboard Crowdfunder campaign, weeks ahead of schedule.

The fantastic achievement would not have been possible without the help of so many people that are too many to name at this stage.

Reaction to our success has been overwhelming, we have shared most of your posts on Twitter, they can be read on the Robins Wall here.

We have also gauged an immediate reaction from Paul Baker, Gary Johnson, John Finnigan, Aaron Downes and Jon Palmer, read their quotes below:

Paul Baker: "I just think it's an absolutely awesome achievement from everyone involved. In my time here we have had some great achievements on the pitch but this campaign, off the pitch, has been miraculous. It has been the best marketing campaign we've ever put together and credit has to go to Murry Toms, John Finnigan, George Smith, James Stone and Mark Cuzner for their work.

"I'd like to thank everyone who has pledged, either buying a reward or giving one. All of the sponsors and local businesses who supported us have also been fantastic. The fans have been truly amazing, not only pledging but alos in spreading the word to their friends and family etc to help create a real buzz around the project. It really just goes to show what a great club this is, thank you everyone."

Gary Johnson: "On behalf on the playing staff and myself, I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone that contributed. Thank you for your overwhelming support. What a club we have!"

Club Captain Aaron Downes: " The players have been blown away by the support shown in such a short amount of time. Seeing ex managers and players getting involved along with our fans and local businesses shows what a special club we are a part of. Well done everyone."

We'd also like to thank the local press for their help in spreading the word; Paul Furley and the team at BBC Radio Gloucestershire as well as Jon Palmer and James Young from Gloucestershire Live. Here's what Jon had to say after we reached our goal, " We're proud to have been a part of this great campaign and I'm glad that Gloucestershire Live has been able to help. It has truly been an amazing campaign."

Watch what John Finnigan had to say after hearing that we'd reached the £55,500 mark here:
