Danny Whitehead arrives from Wigan

Cheltenham Town manager Gary Johnson has further strengthened his squad ahead of the new season with the addition of midfielder Danny Whitehead on a season-long loan from Wigan Athletic.
The Manchester-born 22-year old began his career with Stockport County and made a big move to West Ham United in 2013 but made only one first team appearance for the Hammers.
After a short spell with Accrington Stanley he joined Macclesfield Town and sprang to prominence for the National League club last season.
Whitehead impressed Gary Johnson during Macclesfield's visit to Cheltenham early last season although his team finished on the losing side and his performances earned a move to Wigan Athletic mid-way through the season.
Wigan loaned him back to Macclesfield for the second half of the campaign and following Wigan's promotion back to the Championship, they have now allowed him to join the Robins in order to gain further first team experience.
"I'm really pleased to have Danny on board," said Johnson.
"We know his ability very well and we are very grateful to Wigan for allowing us to take him on a season long loan.
"Danny will bring us a lot of ability. He can play all across the midfield or as a number 10 so he gives us a number of options.
"He is a very energtic, clever footballer and I am sure he will fit in very well with us."
