Report: Cheltenham 4-1 Bromley

Cheltenham Town saw off Bromley confidently with a 4-1 win at The World of Smile Stadium.

Two goals a piece from Dan Holman and Danny Wright were enough for the Robins to take the three points.

Bromley hit back with a late consolation goal through Alex Wall with five minutes to go

In the first 10 minutes it was easy to see what Bromley were trying to do to carve out chances, long balls forward to Alex Hall weren't paying dividends as his knock downs weren't latched onto by any supporting players. Dan Holman and James Dayton looked to link up early on but the crosses from the right were dealt with comfortably by Alan Julian.

The visitors had the first clear-cut chance of the game in the 17th minute, Adam Cunnington floated in a ball to the back post but Paul Rodgers sent his header just wide under pressure from George McLennan.

With their first real chance of the game Cheltenham were in the lead, after evading a tackle down the right Jack Barthram crossed the ball to Dan Holman who turned and shot on the half-volley sending it past Julian in the Bromley goal.

Just five minutes later Holman had his second Cheltenham goal and his 16th of the season. James Rowe played in an unmarked Holman on the left side of the box who set himself and finished low past Julian.

By the half hour the Robins were settled and forced Bromley to camp in their own half- offering little to a resolute Cheltenham defence which included debutant Cameron Burgess.

Asa Hall scored his first goal of the season in the reverse fixture in October and had a chance to grab his second just before half time. On the break, Hall was feed the ball just outside the box but his shot went wide of Julian's goal. Danny Wright looked to get in on the act minutes later but his volley from just inside the box was palmed away for a corner.

James Rowe should have Cheltenham 3-0 up but his header from six yards out packed little punch and was gathered by the Bromley stopper. In first-half injury time Holman should have had his hat-trick, he bared down on goal from the right into the box but lifted his shot over the bar. At the break the Robins were in a comfortable position and could have been further ahead.

Minutes into the second half and Cheltenham weren't taking their foot off the gas as Danny Wright made it 3-0. James Rowe played in the corner as Wright managed to shake his maker and headed past Julian from close-range.

Cheltenham again ramped up the pressure as the half went on as Wright and Holman both went on the search to make it 4-0.

On the 63rd minute the game was all but up for the visitors as Danny Wright made it 4-0. Dan Holman charged down the keeper's kick which allowed James Rowe to latch on to the ball and square it to Wright who finished from close range for his 14th league goal of the season.

Jordan Cranston replaced James Rowe in the 70th minute to make his Cheltenham debut following the move from Gateshead this morning.
10 minutes later housemates and teammates Billy Waters and Jack Munns came on for James Dayton and Jack Barthram respectively as Cheltenham looked to go further out of sight.

With five minutes left Bromley gave something for their 104 away fans to cheer about. Hitting the defence on the break Alex Wall finished from just inside the box to grab a consolation goal.

Into the dying embers of the game and with the game already secured in terms of a result, few chances fell to either side and it finished 4-1.
