A Chance to meet some Amazing People
Cheltenham Town players and Directors have today visited Gloucestershire Royal Hospital's Children's Ward to meet some of the families there and spread some Christmas spirit. As well as handing out presents, the players also met the fantastic staff and learned more about what they do.Â
Club Captain Aaron Downes said, "Thank you to the hospital and the staff for accommodating us so well, it's always an honour to go down and meet some of the unfortunate children and families at this time of year. The good news though was that 90% of those we spoke to today will be home for Christmas which is really nice.
Â
"It was a great trip, it's always nice to see smiles on faces and hopefully we gave them a bit of cheer in these tough times."
Fan Elected Director Clive Gowing added, "I'm very proud that we can help out in the community and spread some Christmas cheer. I was extremely impressed with the fantastic work the play specialists and nurses do in the children's ward, it was nice to see so many smiles on faces when the players turned up and when they were taking photos."
