Cheltenham Town 1 Sheffield United 3

Two late goals earned League One Sheffield United a friendly victory at the World of Smile Stadium.

Nigel Adkins' side took the lead through Che Adams' fine finish, but Amari Morgan-Smith levelled for the Robins during first-half stoppage time.

No less than 19 of the 21 players on the pitch were substituted after an hour and Cheltenham remained on level terms until the 89th minute, when Michael Higdon crashed in a fine shot and Jose Baxter added the third in the second minute of time added on.

Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson had a fourth look at trialist defender Danny Parslow, while former Forest Green and Tranmere Rovers midfielder James Rowe was also given a chance to impress.

The Vanarama National League side gave as good as they got in the first half, but a fine ball from James Wallace cut open the defence in the 12th minute and Adams finished well past Dillon Phillips.

Jack Munns was central to some of Cheltenham's brightest attacking moves and also delivered several testing set pieces.

Stefan Scougall saw a volley deflected wide in the 31st minute and Adams was close to a second, but Cheltenham levelled after good persistence from Wright.

He won the ball and fed Billy Waters, who was dispossessed, but Harrison McGahey's clearance was touched by Munns into the path of Morgan-Smith, who finished well to make it four goals in four games since arriving at Cheltenham.

Rowe went on after an hour along with seven other Cheltenham players, with Barthram and Parslow completing the 90 minutes. Jordan Wynter made his comeback from a knee ligament injury in the 74th minute, replacing George McLennan.

Adkins changed his entire XI for the final half an hour and Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Baxter caught the eye against a less experienced Robins side.

But they stood firm until the final seconds when Higdon crashed a shot past Calum Kitscha from outside the box and Baxter's third made the scoreline slightly flattering in favour of the Blades.
