This Valentine’s Day, Sue Ryder - Leckhampton Court Hospice and Cheltenham Town Football Club will be raising funds for, and in memory of, loved ones.
Cheltenham Town are playing Bury at home on Saturday, February 14. Before the match takes place there will be a Tribute Balloon Launch which is generously being supported by Mira, where a number of balloons will be released for loved ones.
Messages can be written on tags which will be attached to the balloons, all of which will be biodegradable. These can be bought in advance for small donation.
Cheltenham Town's mascot Whaddney the Robin, marketing consultant Tim Cordell and members of the fundraising team from Leckhampton Court Hospice will be at Regent Arcade on Saturday, February 7 between 11am-2pm to promote the match and raise awareness of the Hospice. You will be able to meet him as well as purchase Tribute Balloons.
Throughout the match against Bury, Sue Ryder volunteers will be collecting donations which will enable Leckhampton Court Hospice to continue providing incredible care for people in Gloucestershire, who are living with life limiting illnesses.
There will also be raffle tickets available for sought after Robins’ goodies including a signed ball and shirt plus two Ruby Club tickets to a future game of your choice worth £50.
Rob Pestell, the Chaplain based at Sue Ryder - Leckhampton Court Hospice, who has generously sponsored the match on behalf of Sue Ryder said: “As a keen football supporter, as well as a qualified referee, the opportunity to sponsor a match on behalf of the Sue Ryder Hospice at Leckhampton Court seemed too good to miss.
"St. Valentine’s Day is an ideal occasion to inform others of the incredible care and support that is offered to patients and families through the Hospice. Care, compassion, laughter and love are all on offer, and staff continue to support families as they remember their relatives.”
Match and hospitality tickets can be bought at the ticket office on the day of the match.
