REDUCED PRICES FOR TROPHY TIE

Cheltenham Town will play their first FA Trophy tie since 1999 when Chelmsford City visit the World of Smile Stadium on Saturday 12 December (3pm).

Admission prices have been reduced for this game with £5 deducted from the price of seat tickets and £3 off in the standing areas.

Full admission prices are:
Seats - £16 adults, £10 over-65s and disabled, £2 Under-18s/ students
Terraces - £13 adults, £9 over-65s and disabled, £2 Under-18s/students

In finalising the arrangements for this match the Board also took into consideration the fact that a race meeting is also taking place at Cheltenham that day. However, options to move the game were limited with Chelmsford unable to travel on a Friday as most of their players would have needed time off work. A move to Sunday was considered but with three live Premier League games on TV plus local junior football it was decided to remain with the traditional Saturday afternoon kick-off, particularly as the race meeting is not of the same magnitude as the November Open and March Gold Cup events.

Cheltenham Town have a proud history to uphold in the FA Trophy having won the competition in 1998 and reached the semi-finals a year later before gaining promotion to the Football League. This year the FA Trophy final (which is contested between teams at Conference National level and the three tiers below), will be on the same day as the FA Vase final (for clubs at levels 9 to 11 of the national league system) at Wembley Stadium on May 22.

Cheltenham Town have also played Chelmsford City on many occasions going back to our days in the Southern League. The most recent home meeting took place in February 1997, Cheltenham winning 1-0 with a second half goal from Darren Wright.

If the match on December 12 ends in a draw then a replay would take place at Chelmsford’s Melbourne Stadium on Monday 14 December at 7.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased online here, over the phone on 01242 573558. The Ticket Office is open on Saturday before the match with Chester, or next week on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday between 10am-3pm.
