Left-back loving life at World of Smile Stadium
Cheltenham Town's  George McLennan is feeling positive at the start of a new season at the World of Smile Stadium.
Summer signing George McLennan, like the rest of the starting XI, made his Robins debut on Saturday and felt there were definitely positives to be taken from it, even if it could be seen as two points dropped;
"It was a hard game, I thought the first half was so positive. Our movement, on the ball, every aspect of our game was good in the first half. Â We watched the video back, we had about 10 chances in the first half but second half we just dropped off and let them dictate a bit and they ended up getting one back and it felt a bit like a loss after the game.
We can't be too disappointed though, there are a lot of positives to take, especially all of the chances we were able to create."
And George was content too with his own efforts at Cincil Bank, " I was quite happy with my performance. I thought I defended well. I was hoping to get forward more and affect the game higher up. The quality of my crosses weren't the best. But I thought I did alright."
McLennan is one of 16 new faces brought in by manager Gary Johnson, and is impressed at how easy it has been fitting in and how pre-season went, Â " Everyone has fitted in so fast. It's ridiculous how fast everyone has gelled and got together. We had a great pre-season apart from maybe one half of football but 90% of pre-season was great."
Following his move from Reading, he is enjoying life in Cheltenham, "It's really nice. Having moved from Reading, a bigger place town, everything here seems more compact so here it's nice for me."
He's also looking forward to his first competitive fixture at the world of Smile Stadium on Tuesday night, " After the game on Saturday i'm feeling positive. I've played there in pre-season obviously and it's a nice stadium. Hopefully we can get a couple of thousand and will be great."
