Trialist Hooper in Robins' squad for final friendly of summer at AFC Wimbledon

1 August 2015

Johnson's men round-off pre-season schedule at Dons

Striker JJ Hooper will be in Cheltenham Town's squad for a second time as they visit League Two AFC Wimbledon for their final friendly of the summer on Saturday (3pm).

The powerfully built 21-year-old was a used substitute in last Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Cardiff City at the World of Smile Stadium and boss Gary Johnson will have another look at him in south west London.

There will be no other new trialists involved and midfielder James Rowe will miss out again with a thigh strain, but the ex-Tranmere and Forest Green man is still set to sign a deal with the Robins, along with young goalkeeper Rhys Lovett.

Striker Amari Morgan-Smith has been passed fit to play after a thigh niggle of his own which has caused him to sit out the last two games as a precautionary measure, but Lee Vaughan faces four to six weeks out with a hamstring injury.

Ticket prices are £10 for adults and concessions with free entry for Under-18s.

* Cheltenham kick-off their Vanarama National League campaign at Lincoln City on Saturday, August 8 (3pm). Away travel tickets are on sale now, with official travel club coaches departing from Whaddon Road at 9.45am. Adults tickets are £16, with concessionas £14. (Non travel club members must add £2 to these prices)
