Joe Hanks re-joins Gloucester City on loan

20 August 2015

Midfielder leaves on loan until January

Cheltenham Town midfielder Joe Hanks has today re-joined National League North side Gloucester City on loan until January.

Hanks has previously had a spell on loan at Gloucester in 2014 when he made 6 appearances.

Cheltenham Town Assistant Manager Russell Milton explains the deal, "We're just looking to get him regular games like we have done with Harry (Williams), Bobbie (Dale) and Zack (Kotwica). We want to get mens senior football into them more than the odd 15 minutes here.

"There's a 28 day clause in the deal so we'll see where we are then. It was important that he went to the highest possible standard and Gloucester fits perfectly. He knows the surroundings and players so he should go there and do well."

The loan will run to January but as Milton says, there is a clause for possible recall after an initial 28 days should anything happen to one of the current crop of midfielders.

The 20 year-old Gloucester born midfielder has so far been on the bench for all four of the Robins' National League matches, coming off the bench against Lincoln.

Joe could make his first appearance back at Gloucester when they travel to Boston on Saturday.
