Midfielder aiming to be fit for Lincoln

Midfielder James Rowe has signed a one year deal with Cheltenham Town.

The former Tranmere Rovers and Forest Green man is hoping to be fit for Saturday's Vanarama National League opener at Lincoln City.

Rowe, 23, started pre-season training with the Robins after impressing boss Gary Johnson in a training match at Winchcombe School.

He picked up a thigh injury, but after regaining fitness he appeared in the friendly matches against Sheffield United and Bristol Rovers, before succumbing to the same injury.

Rowe has been working hard with physio Joe Baker and fitness coach Ian Hutton and has a chance of being considered for the start of the season.

The new boys:

Goalkeepers: Dillon Phillips, Calum Kitscha, Rhys Lovett

Defenders: Aaron Downes, Daniel Parslow, Jack Barthram, George McLennan

Midfielders: Harry Pell, Kyle Storer, Jack Munns, Billy Waters, James Rowe, Adam Page

Strikers: Danny Wright, Amari Morgan-Smith
