Cheltenham Town are looking to offer 25 players the opportunity to join the academy’s official football and education scholarship programme for year 11 leavers.
This is an intense, full-time, professional football scholarship designed to get the best for each individual player. The club see both the academy and development scholarship as one pool of 30 players to select from for reserve games and professional contracts. There are many benefits for joining the development scholarship:

Receive Professional Coaching on a full time basis
Compete in the Premier/Football U19 development league
Opportunities to play with the Academy Squad on Saturdays
Opportunities to play reserve football
Opportunities to play Saturday senior football
Gain High level UCAS points for university domestically or abroad
Training
Monday, Tuesday and Friday
Some players will be selected to train with Academy Squad
Matches
PF FL U19 Development Games take place on Wednesday afternoons against such teams including Swindon Town, Coventry City and Birmingham City
Some players will be selected to play with the Academy Squad on Saturday mornings
Players have permission to play local senior football on Saturdays but this must be cleared by management
Education
Students will be studying:
BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport which includes the following units:
Sports Coaching
Fitness Testing and Training
Sports Nutrition
Anatomy and Physiology
Sports Coaching, Refereeing and leaders Certificates
Lessons carried out Tuesday (9am-1pm) and Thursday (9am-5pm) (subject to change) at the training or main club ground
Application Criteria
Five GCSE grades at C or above of which two must be English and Maths
Have your own laptop
Have a positive and team attitude
Dedicated to their studies and football
