A stubborn Burton side held onto a 1-0 victory despite a hard working Cheltenham performance in the second half.Stuart Beavon's first half strike handed the Bewers a deserved lead and Gary Rowett's side refused to give their three points up despite a much improved performance from the Robins in the second half.
At time Burton looked to be wobbling under the pressure but a number of key blocks denied and frustrated a Cheltenham side lacking confidence in front of goal. Joe Hanks, Terry Gornell and Byron Harrison had the best chances throughout and were all denied to confirm defeat although there was a positive debut from new signing Raffaele De Vita.
