Press call: Mark Yates on Bristol City

7 October 2014

The match being on a Wednesday night is something we have to deal with. We have the pleasure of having the Sky TV cameras here at Whaddon Road and I am sure the chairman is delighted with that.

It should be a decent crowd and it makes it a longer week, but that's fine and the players are professionals and know what's at stake so it's important we prepare properly for both games.

Hopefully we can do ourselves justice and cause an upset. We are playing all right, we just haven't been getting the results perhaps our performances deserve.

There is no better time than Wednesday night to put that right. We always put ourselves under a bit of pressure to perform, but not many people outside the club will give us a chance.

They are one of the favourites for the JPT and rightly so, given the start they have made. We have to try to cause an upset, which is more do-able than when you go to White Hart Lane, or play Everton at home in the FA Cup.

We know how good they are from our pre-season encounter, which we did well in for large parts of the game. We'll have to see what sort of side they pick, but they have a good squad of players and a manager who will be looking to keep things ticking over. We are looking to put things right and play well.

Jason Taylor is back and I think it's been evident how much we've missed him, which is credit to him and the start he's had to the season. Troy Brown is also back after his ban, so he comes into my plans.

We have everyone fit and available bar Asa Hall and Paul Black, so we'll pick a team to go out there and win the game against a team who are doing well in the league above. Upsets happen.

Jack Deaman was excellent on Saturday and I can't see him being left out after that performance.
