Mark Yates believes this afternoon's defeat summed up the Robins season in just 90 minutes.
Cheltenham chief Mark Yates speaking to the media following this afternoon's 2-3 defeat against Dagenham & Redbridge.:
"This game just sums us up, I'm not going to make any excuses. I thought some of our stuff first half looked really good, but we looked a bit leggy second half.
"We didn't do enough today. We had a few chances. We had a good penalty shout before they scored their third. The lads were convinced it was a penalty.
"We gave a few of the young boys a go and I thought that first half they did exactly what we asked of them.
"The first goal we conceded was ridiculous, the second was poor on our part and their third one just sums us up.
"We wanted them to play and to pass the ball and be able to knock it around. I thought at times we did that well. We got our full backs going forward.
"We know the young boys have got a bit of talent and it's up to us to nurture it and get the best out of them where we can. I decided to give them a go and I thought their movement was good, they kept it well at times. There's always stuff we can do better but they weren't the problem.
"When we give away goals like the goals we give, it's mind-boggling. The goals we've conceded this season has been the main problem."
