Steve Elliott is officially a member of both the playing and backroom staff here at Whaddon Road.
Steve Elliott has put pen to paper this afternoon on a one year contract as a player/coach.We confirmed that terms had been agreed between the club and Steve last week but the contract has now been finalised and Steve has linked up with the backroom staff in a team meeting at the training ground earlier today.
Steve, 35, has made 175 appearances for the club and has scored 8 goals in four seasons for the Robins but this new deal will see him enter into a fifth and the powerful defender admitted he was excited about the challenge ahead.
"Over the last few years I have been thinking about how I can stay in the game," said Steve.
"The club and the management have offered me the chance and I'm grateful so I will give everything I have got. I will be there to help the Gaffer and all the staff when I can. I'm excited about the challenge ahead and we have just had a brilliant meeting nailing down pre-season so that was interesting and I really enjoyed it.!
