Steve Cotterill To Make His Return With Bristol City

15 May 2014

Cheltenham Town will take on Bristol City in a pre-season friendly ahead of the 2014-15 campaign.

Cheltenham Town will face Bristol City here at Whaddon Road on Tuesday 29th July (7.45pm kick-off) in a pre-season friendly.

This is the third pre-season match announced with an away game at Evesham and a home match versus Wolves were revealed earlier in the week.

Ticket prices have yet to be confirmed for this fixture but full details will be brought to you here on when possible.

An interesting side story to this game will be the return of Steve Cotterill, the man that led the Robins into the Football League 15 years ago. Cheltenham chief Mark Yates is a former Robins player under the management of Cotterill and has worked alongside him in the dugout at Burnley too.

For Cotterill the opportunity to come back to Whaddon Road is an exciting prospect.

“Cheltenham’s pitch is terrific and will make for a good football match," he said.

“The fact it’s my old club and home town is just an added nicety. I still have a number of friends there, and I know the chairman (Paul Baker) and vice-chairman (Colin Farmer), so it should be a nice occasion.”

Tickets for this fixture will be available on turnstiles on the evening of the game but will not be available to purchase online or in advance.
