Powell Signs Professional Terms

29 May 2014

Young midfielder Adam Powell is the third second year scholar to turn professional this summer.

Adam Powell has today signed a professional contract here at Cheltenham Town.

Adam, 18, impressed during his two years as a scholar under the guidance of Russell Milton and the central midfielder signed a one year contract earlier today.

The Worcester-based youngster admitted he was excited to become a professional footballer but admitted he had plenty of work ahead to achieve his ultimate goal of breaking into the first team.

"I am absolutely buzzing," he said.

"This has been what I have been working towards for years and it's all everyone wants to be. I hope I can repay the faith the manager has shown in me.

"I just need to learn at this stage of my career and soak it all in and then show what I can do."

Adam has yet to make an appearance for the Robins but he has regularly been a top performer in Russell Milton's youth team and in several reserve team matches. Adam, like his fellow new pros, will now work with fitness coach Ian Hutton on his strength and conditioning ahead of the 2014-15 pre-season.

2014-15 season tickets are now on sale and the early bird deadline ends at 6pm on Friday. Click here for further details.
