Cheltenham Town To Face Wolves In Friendly Action

14 May 2014

Cheltenham Town will host newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2014-15 pre-season.

Cheltenham Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers will go head to head in a pre-season friendly on Friday 11th July (7.45pm kick-off).

Kenny Jackett will bring his Wolves side to Whaddon Road for what will be their first pre-season match of the summer so a big following from Wolves fans is expected. This will also be the first major test for Mark Yates' Robins as we begin to build for the 2014-15 Sky Bet League 2 campaign.

Ticket prices have yet to be confirmed for this fixture but we will bring you news of this here on www.ctfc.com.

Wolves are the current 2013-14 Sky Bet League 1 champions having lifted the trophy earlier this month and they will be playing Championship football next season. Wolves are also the former club of current Robins goalkeeper Scott Brown who progressed through his hometown's Academy under the stewardship of former Robins duo John Ward and Keith Downing. Michael Ihiekwe was also on loan here at Whaddon Road from Wolves last season although the young defender has now been released.

This match will be played the evening before Mark Yates takes his Robins away to Evesham United so there will be a squad divide for the two matches.

Confirmed 2014-15 pre-season matches so far:

11.7.14 - Wolverhampton Wanderers (H)
12.7.14 - Evesham United (A)

Further news on pre-season matches will be announced here on www.ctfc.com when possible.
